Developing Pioneer Culture

Become a Leader

While not every player gets the opportunity to be a captain, Everyone has a chance to be a leader. On the Pioneer Softball team, every Student Athlete gets a chance to find a role that can allow them to enhance the experience of being on a team. These include Motivational Quotes, coming up with Weekly Acronyms, and even being a part of our Emergency Action Plan. Volunteering for a role can help a player keep a positive outlook throughout a long season.

Become a Coach

While many Student Athletes are looking to become the best player possible, there is a way to get extra work on one’s game by teaching others. As a coach you will get some of that extra practice time that might be needed to see the flaw in your own game, while passing on your knowledge and love of the game to the next generation of Pioneers. Dearborn Fastpitch is the City League, and they can always use help.

Become a Umpire

Many Student Athletes are looking for ways to make additional money, and there is an opportunity to do so while enjoying the game that you love. Being an umpire for summer house leagues and tournaments can pay pretty well, and it is a great way to help younger athletes learn to love the game. Not only can umpiring be a great financial opportunity, it is vital for the continued growth of the sport because without umpires, we can’t play. Coach might be able to point you in the right direction to find an Umpire Clinic or an assigner.

Become a Sponsor

The DHS Softball Program wants to do more than improve our own team, we want to ensure that the community the supports us also feels supported by us. That is why we offer our sponsors a variety of benefits, including having their logo on our site, mentions on our social media channels, likes and follows by our page and all the pages that Coach Archer manages, and other benefits. If you are willing to support us and our mission to become the best program we can be, our Business Sponsorships Start at just $50, and any donation an individual is willing to make is always appreciated.

How & When to Register

Dearborn High School Uses a program called FinalForms for registration for all athletic teams. If you are a DHS Student looking to play any Sport register at dearborn-mi.FinalForms.com

Softball Registration on FinalForms opens on February 1st.

Registering

Parents must be the person to officially register an athlete for a team. Both parent and student needs to fill out a few forms agreeing to certain practices and policies. Athletic Physicals must also be submitted through FinalForms.

Late Registration

Once Tryouts Start, the Dearborn High School Softball team does allow Student-Athletes that may have been cut by other teams to come out for the team. We are willing to extend tryouts as long as all roster spots are not already filled. The same FinalForms Registration process must be completed.

Individual/Separate Tryouts

Many of our Student Athletes are part of other clubs and programs that meet after school. We are willing to work around an athlete’s schedule within reason, including meeting early or late for tryouts. If an Student Athlete is competing for another School Sponsored team that is Actively in the Playoffs for Winter Sports, that player would still have the opportunity to tryout, even if cuts have been made.

Scholarships

Coach has high hopes for the future of the program, and the girls that are a part of the Pioneers Family. One day, we hope to have generous Softball Alumni start a scholarship program for members of our team, but we have not reached this point yet. This is only Coach Archer’s second year with DHS, which means we only have two alumni from the current program. Stay Tuned, because who knows how far these incredible young women can go.
